A YOUNG WOMAN WEARING BIG JEWELRY IN CORNING, NEW YORK

LADYWJEWELRY_0005This Cabinet Card is a portrait of a young woman wearing  a large brooch that dominates the portrait. The jewelry detracts from her appearance as well as the portrait. The photographer will have to remain unknown unless a blog visitor can decipher the name on the bottom of the Cabinet Card. If you can identify the photographer, please leave a comment with his or her name.

Good job of deciphering the name of the photographer of this cabinet card. Since you were able to identify Mr. Jaynes, I was able to learn a little about him. Anthony D. Jaynes (1837-1910) was listed in the Corning business directory of 1868. He called his photography studio, the National Gallery. Jaynes was born and died in New York. He died in the Masonic Home, in Utica, New York.
