Benjamin J. Falk, New York City theatrical photographer, produced this cabinet card portrait of English actress FFolliott Paget. She is dressed to look her best; wearing pearls and a fur coat. Ms Paget appeared in fourteen Broadway plays including “What Every Woman Knows” ((1908-1909) and “The Rivals” (1912). This cabinet card has an extremely minor curl, corner wear (top left), and is in overall good condition (see scans). Cabinet Card photographs of Ffolliott Paget are very uncommon.

What fun! I’ve actually read “What Every Woman Knows”. It’s by J. M. Barrie, who is best known these days for writing “Peter Pan”, but who wrote some rather remarkable plays in his day. It’s interesting to add this detail to my awareness of it. “The Rivals”, on the other hand, was over a century old when she did it, already a classic by her day.
It’s almost impossible to find info on FfolliottPaget. According to an 1894 theatrical rundown on her from GoogleBooks, she was 28 years old that year making her birth year circa 1866 at Margate, Kent in England. I think (not sure, can’t remember) that there’s a ships manifest from the same year but it didn’t help with no birth year. I have not ascertained her year of death either from NY Times, InternetBroadwayDatabase(IBDb) or any other source.
