This vintage real photo postcard features two well dressed African American men posing for their portrait at an unknown photography studio. The men look quite fashionable. The shorter man is wearing a single breasted jacket and fedora while the taller gentleman is wearing a bowler hat and double breasted suit.The postcard has an “AZO” stamp box indicating it was produced sometime between 1904 and 1918.

TWO PRETTY TEENAGE GIRLS READING “THE LETTER” (CIRCA 1911 REAL PHOTO POSTCARD)

This vintage real photo postcard features two pretty teenage girls reading a letter together. One wonders about the content of “the letter”. It certainly has put smiles on these girl’s faces. Both girls are well dressed and wearing necklaces and hair accessories. The girl holding the letter is also wearing a bracelet and a ring. This postcard was published by AZO sometime between 1904 and 1918.

PORTRAIT OF THREE OLD TIME BASEBALL PLAYERS (VINTAGE REAL PHOTO POSTCARD)

Welcome to Mudville. This vintage real photo postcard features three uniformed baseball players. The young men are wearing the uniform of St. Joseph school. Two of the players are wearing fielding gloves and the player in the middle is equipped with a catcher’s glove. The ball players appear to be standing on a ball field in front of empty bleachers. The AZO stamp box on the reverse of this photo postcard indicates that the postcard was published sometime between 1926 and the 1940’s.

LOVELY MEXICAN AMERICAN FAMILY IN THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

This vintage real photo postcard features a portrait of a lovely ethnic family. A father and mother and their son and daughter are all wearing dressy clothing for their day at the photographer. The photographer’s studio provided a lovely homey background in which to take this photograph. This postcard image was found in an antique shop in the Texas hill country. It is likely that this family is of Mexican American origin but that hypothesis can not be confirmed. The AZO stamp box indicates that this photo postcard was created sometime between 1910 and 1930.  (SOLD)

PORTRAIT OF AN ADORABLE THREE YEAR-OLD BOY ON HIS BIRTHDAY

This vintage real photo postcard features a portrait of an adorable little boy. The darling child is sitting with his ankles crossed on a wooden chair. The chair has a silver comb on one arm. He is wearing knickers, button boots, and a ribbon tie. This photograph was taken by an unidentified studio photographer. The AZO stamp box on the reverse of the postcard indicates that it was published sometime between 1904 and 1918. Writing on the verso reveals that the photograph was taken on boy’s third birthday and that this postcard was given to “Uncle Eddie and Aunt Alice”.

PORTRAIT OF A NICELY DRESSED AFRICAN AMERICAN MAN (VINTAGE REAL PHOTO POSTCARD)

black-manThis vintage real photo postcard features a well dressed African American man. He is wearing a ring and a nice hat. He is looking directly at the photographer. The reverse of the postcard has an inscription which includes his name as well as his wife’s name. The gentleman’s name is John Anderson and he inscribed the card to his wife, Inez Anderson. He humorously wrote that she knew that he was the “pretty man” in the photo. The postcard has an AZO stamp box which indicates that it was produced between 1904 and 1918. The lower portion of the postcard has eight tack holes which indicates that the postcard may have traveled a bit and been tacked to a number of walls. There is also residue evidence that the postcard once resided in a photo album.  SOLD
