I love reading your blog. The photographs always grab my imagination.
I found this one particularly interesting. A woman have short hair during this time frame is highly unusual.
When I started reading the description you added I was thunderstruck! My hubby’s Starr family hails from Danbury, Connecticut.
After a little research I have connected E. Starr Sanford as my husband’s 6th cousin 2x removed.
Thanks for not only posting the incredible photographs that Sanford captured, but also a piece of our family history.

I have a portrait that E Starr Sanford took of a little girl and her dog. Found it in the wall of a house we are renovating in Danbury Connecticut. Would love to figure out who she is.
It is interesting that someone would place a photograph inside a wall. What is the purpose of that? It is almost as if you found a time capsule. Are you living in a very old house? Was the house standing during the cabinet card era? If so, it may be possible to learn more about the little girl.
