This cabinet card captures two young children posing for photographer, J. W. Souder, of St. Joseph, Missouri. The children are adorable and they are most probably, siblings. The boy is wearing a bow tie and the girl is riding a tricycle. John W. Souder’s photography business was listed in St. Joseph directories between 1887 and 1896. It is unknown whether he was there during other years.

  1. I love old pictures. Here recently my husband had inherited pictures taken by the J.W Souder Photographer Central Gallery corner of Felix and Edmond St. Joseph, Mo, in the late 1800’s. By chance did the studio keep records?

  2. I have a photo that was taken by J.W. Souder around 1904 of my great grandfather when he was a baby. The address at the bottom of the photo says “717 Edmond St. St. Joseph, MO.”
