TWO YOUNG MEN AND THE HISTORY OF RADIO (A LYRA RADIO AND AN EXIDE BATTERY)

old radio

old radio 1

This vintage photograph is a terrific relic of radio history. Two young men flank an old radio which is sitting on a small table. Each man has a hand atop the radio. Both men are holding cigarettes. The radio was manufactured by Lyra, a company located in Berlin, Germany. The receiving set must have been highly valued by it’s owners. The radio was powered by the Exide battery sitting on the lower shelf of the table. Compare this battery to the tiny batteries of today. The men are wearing knickers and high boots. This vintage photograph measures about 3 1/4″ x 5″ and is in very good condition (see scans).  (SOLD)
