This is a terrible and offensive title for this post.
The girl has been confirmed in a church (Confirmation, a rite of passage in several major denominations following a period of instruction in Christian doctrine).
She did not “find” religion, which is a derogatory term.
I am very sorry if I offended you. It was certainly not my intention to be disrespectful of any religion or any religious person. I have written at least two thousand headlines for this blog and I try to be creative so all the headlines don’t sound the same. REM did a popular song in 1991 called “Losing My Religion”. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award. I wrote the phrase about the teenage girl “Finding Religion” as a contrast to the REM song title. I never realized that what I wrote might be interpreted as offensive by some people. Please accept my apologies.

In my neck of the woods, finding religion has no negative connotation if the person who found it is truly repentant; only if the conversion is insincere and there is no change in that person. I might add that IMO there is a HUGE difference in being religious and in becoming a redeemed child of God.
