This cabinet card photograph is both interesting an unusual. The photo features a well dressed couple sitting at the edge of Niagara Falls. Af first, I thought that they were actually posing at a photographers studio with a excellent photo backdrop. I have since questioned my hypotheses. The pair are sitting on short chairs atop some rocks at the edge of the Niagara River. The gentleman’s shoes appear to be in very shallow water. The appearance of the waters edge and the realism of the background, makes me think they are actually being photographed outside and at the water’s edge. The reverse of the cabinet card has an inscription revealing that the couple’s names are Joseph and Angelica (Angeline?) Baker and that the photograph was taken in either 1887 or 1888. The photographer is unidentified. (SOLD)

This vintage postcard features an attractive bride and groom. The postcard originates from Bulgaria. The card is in very good condition (see scans).

This vintage real photo postcard features a lovely young European couple. The gentleman does not qualify for the label of fashionista. Wearing a striped tie over a plaid sweater is certainly a fashion faux pax by today’s standards. The young woman looks pretty in her print dress. This portrait postcard is dated 1937 and is in good condition (see scans).

This vintage photograph features an elderly man and woman doing something unusual. What’s happening in this image that is so unusual, you might ask? The odd thing about this photo is that the old couple appear to be holding hands. This is not commonly seen in photographs of this “no public displays of affection” era. The man has a wonderful walrus mustache. He looks dressed up in his three piece suit. The woman is bundled up in her outfit as if it is winter. Both are wearing hats. It is difficult to determine if this photograph was taken inside or outside of a photo studio. This photograph measures about 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and is in very good condition (see scans).

This vintage photograph features a young couple posing at an unidentified photography studio. I possess no background information about this well dressed pair. The photo measures 5

This photograph is a portrait of a spectacular and dashing couple. The gentleman is wearing a tuxedo with a white bow tie and a corsage. He has a terrific handlebar mustache. The lady is wearing a dress with feathers, a corsage, and a necklace. This pair certainly make a beautiful couple. An inscription on the reverse of the photograph states “To Papa” and is signed “Wm. M….”. Unfortunately, a former owner of this image trimmed the photograph to fit it into a picture frame and the debris included the signer’s last name. The photographer’s name and location was also lost in the scissor work. The photo measures about 6″ x 4 7/8″. Overall, this vintage photograph is in good condition (see scans).
