This vintage real photo postcard features four men and their bicycles. These men are well dressed and by today’s norms, they would not bike wearing dress suits. During the era seen in this image, men would wear bands on the bottom of their pants to avoid having their pant legs getting tangled in the spokes of their bike. (SOLD)
This vintage real photo postcard features a couple delivering milk transported by a dog cart. The wagon is being pulled by three large dogs. The caption printed on the card, “Laitiere Flamande”, is translated as “Flemish Milk Maid”. The woman on the cart is wearing traditional Flemish clothing. This divided back postcard dates back to around 1907 to 1915. Note the light crease in the upper right hand corner of the card. Overall, this vintage postcard is in good condition.

This vintage real photo postcard features English film actress, Julie Suedo (1902-1978). She played a number of glamorous roles in the 1920’s and 1930’s. She usually occupied a supporting role, rather than a starring one. The IMDb credits Suedo with 43 film appearance between 1923 and 1945. This postcard was published as part of the Picturegoer Series 88 (no.330). This photo postcard is not a common photo of Miss Suedo. (SOLD)
This vintage real photo postcard features an attractive dark complexioned young woman seated in a chair. She is wideeyed and displaying an inquisitive expression. She is nicely dressed, wearing a checkered skirt and a light colored blouse with a lace collar. She posed for her portrait at the Mueller Studio in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The postcard has a Cyko stamp box indicating that the photo was taken sometime between 1904 and 1920. This vintage portrait postcard is in very good condition (see scans).

This vintage real photo postcard features a beautiful white cat. This regal looking feline deserves “best of show” honors. The postcard was published by Rotary Photo which was located in London, England. It was produced in the 1900’s decade and was part of a series (A.710). The Rotary Photographic Company was founded in London in 1901. It was a major publisher of real photo postcards. SOLD
This vintage real photo postcard features German film actress and dancer, Fee (Felicitas) Malten (1911-2005). Malten later emigrated to the United States. She was a leading lady in silent as well as sound films of the Weimar era. Malten was forced to go into exile after the Nazi rise to power in 1933. The compelling reason for her exit was her Jewish background. When she came to the United States, she continued to act. Most of her parts in America, were in Germanic minor roles. In the US, she was known as Fay Wall. The IMDb credits her with 29 film appearances. One of these films was “Hitler-Dead or Alive” (1942). (SOLD)
This carte de visite portrait features a pretty young woman. Her hair is stylish and she is well dressed. She is wearing a lace jabot and long earrings. The photographer of this cabinet card is Alston E. Hotchkiss ( c 1846-1907) of Norwich, New York. A. E. Hotchkiss came to Norwich in 1872 at the age of twenty-six. He ran the most popular photo gallery in town and it is reported that he took on the persona of an artistic and cultured gentleman. His wife played a major role in his running the studio, and at one point, he employed at least twenty workers. Note that the top corners of this cdv are trimmed. This carte de visite is in overall good condition (see scans).

This cabinet card features a handsome young man dressed in his railroad uniform. His cap identifies his occupation as a brakeman. A brakeman’s job was to assist in the braking of a train when the conductor wants the train to slow down or stop. Among the job’s other duties was to ensure that all couplings between cars were set properly. It was a dangerous job. The cap also identifies the railway abbreviation as being “M. C. R. ?.”. The photographer of this image was George F. Sterling. His business was based in Bay City, Michigan. The reverse of the photo has an advertisement for Sterling’s business. The ad includes a drawing of his photographic studio rail car. Attatching the studio to a train gives the photographer the advantage of having the opportunity to gain business in more than one town. Sterling’s studio car was attatched to a train belonging to the Michigan Central Railroad. The railroad was established in 1846. In time, the railway served Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Ontario (Canada). In 1867 the Michigan Central was taken over by the New York Central Railroad company. (SOLD)
