This vintage real photo postcard features the Dornier Superwal. Dornier is the name of the manufacturer. This German plane was four engine flying boat airliner of the 1920’s. The plane carried nineteen passengers in it’s two cabins. The plane was part of the fleets of both Luft Hansa (German Airline) and the Italian Airline, Societa Anonima Navigazione Aerea (SANA). This postcard serves as an advertisement for SANA. The plane was also used by the military of Spain.There is a model of this plane exhibited at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C..
