This cabinet card features a very cute, curly haired, little girl standing on a chair. She is clutching her doll and carefully posing the doll for the photograph. She is wearing an adorable dress. The fabric at her collar matches the fabric on the cuffs of her sleeves. The little girl is identified on the reverse of the card as “Mrs. J. J. Joseph”. A faded back stamp identifies the photographer as L. McLean, and his studio as being located in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Lachlan McLean was listed in the Clear Creek County Business Directory (1890). His work was well respected and a biography has been written about his life, Secure the Shadow: Lachlan McLean, Colorado Mining Photographer (1980). This cabinet photograph was taken only a few decades after the founding of Idaho Springs. The town was established by prospectors in the early days of the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. Idaho Springs was the site of the first significant gold discovery in Colorado. (SOLD)

This vintage real photo postcard features a well dressed adorable little boy posing for his portrait at the Hunter, Tuppen Company Studio in Syracuse, New York. The boy is well groomed and wearing a striped shirt and a bow. The lad is identified on the reverse of the postcard and the inscription states that he was five years old at the time of this photograph. The postcard was manufactured by AZO between 1904 and 1918. An adorable young child stands on a wicker chair, posing for their photo at the studio of C. Ruiz de Castro. The studio was located in Matanzas, Cuba. The child is wearing a necklace and feminine looking shoes which leads me to believe that the child is a girl. This scallop edged photograph is in fair condition (See Scans). (SOLD)

This cabinet card portrait features two teenage girls wearing lacey dresses with puffy sleeves. Presumably, the girls are sisters. The girl’s photograph was taken at the Hopkins studio in Holland, Michigan. The photographer’s full name is William D. Hopkins. A 1902 Holland business directory lists his studio as being located at 46 West 8th Street. Hopkins was born in 1869 in Michigan. He is listed in the 1900 US census as being widowed and living with his 5 year-old daughter Lillian, his father, and a 27 year-old housekeeper. His marital status was listed as widowed and his occupation as photographer. This cabinet card photograph is in good condition (see scans).

This vintage real photo postcard features a young mother and her little girl. The child is standing on a swing secured by her mother. Both mother and daughter have wonderful smiles. The translation of the printed words beneath the image is somewhat as follows. “As I’m swayed towards you, my little heart launches”. This postmark is from 1919. FOUR ADORABLE SIBLINGS : FLATEN : MINNESOTA, NORTH DAKOTA : CABINET CARD
This photographic portrait captures four very cute kids dressed in adorable clothing. Plaids, ruffles and bows abound. The image is crystal clear. The photographer is O. E. Flaten who at the time of the photograph, had studios in Moorehead and Halstad, Minnesota; as well as in Gardner, North Dakota. Research reveals that Ole E. Flaten (1854 or 1865- 1933) was born in Vanders, Norway and emigrated to the United States. He operated studios in Northfield, Moorehead, and Halstad, Minnesota. He worked as a photographer from the 1870’s through the 1920’s, retiring in 1930. SOLD
