CLOSE-UP PHOTOGRAPH OF THE CUTEST LITTLE BOY IN YUGOSLAVIA RIDING A CAROUSEL HORSE

This vintage real photo postcard captures a a very cute child sitting on a carousel type horse. The child seems to be a bit befuddled by the experience of being photographed. He does not appear to be thrilled with the idea of posing for a photograph. On the other hand, the horse seems perfectly happy. Is the child wearing pajamas? The setting of the photograph is a studio in Yugoslavia. The evidence of that identification is the Yugolslavian stamp on the card. The postmark indicates that the picture was taken in 1973. The postmark is from Vrnjacka Banja. On today’s map, the town is located in central Serbia. This vintage postcard is in very good condition (see scans).

PRETTY TEENAGE GIRL AND HER ACCORDION

accordion

accordion 1 This vintage photograph features a pretty teenage girl and her accordion. She has bright eyes and a lovely smile. She is casting a shadow on the wall behind her. The shadow enhances the photograph by providing interesting contrast. Hopefully, a visitor to the Cabinet Card Gallery, will be able to identify the Maker and Model of this musical instrument, and leave an informative comment. I can identify the words “Concerto”, “Melodija”, and possibly “Hohner”, on the instrument, This photo of this lovely musician and her accordion, was found in Serbia. I can not decipher the inscription on the reverse of the photograph. The scallop edged photograph measures about   5 1/4″ x 3 1/4″  and is in very good condition (see scans).

PORTRAIT OF TWO INCREDIBLY PRECIOUS SISTERS IN BELGRADE, SERBIA

The sisters seen in this cabinet card image are absolutely precious. They are also adorably attired in matching dresses and hats. The dresses have a bit of nautical style. The photographer of this photo portrait is Amere Kehur (Kenur?), at least that is how I decipher the script printed below the image. Kehur’s gallery was located in Belgrade which is the capital of Serbia.

PORTRAIT OF A LOVELY YOUNG SERBIAN COUPLE

zajecan

zajecan-1

This cabinet card portrait features a lovely young Serbian couple. The pair are very well dressed. The young man is wearing a pocket watch and a wedding ring on his left hand. Perhaps this image is a wedding portrait. The young woman is wearing a traditional dress and lots of lace. She is holding something in her right hand that I am guessing is a hat.  The couple looks very young and very innocent. The reverse of the cabinet card has the stamp of Bernhard Wachtl, an Austrian lithographer whose printing firm was located in Vienna, Austria. He designed and printed logos of photographic studios during the cabinet card era. His clients included photo studios located throughout most of the world.

PORTRAIT OF AN ARMY TAILOR AND HIS SEWING MACHINE IN SERBIA (VINTAGE REAL PHOTO POSTCARD)

tailor

This vintage real photo postcard features a terrific portrait of an army tailor sitting at his sewing machine. The soldier is in uniform while he works on a pair of uniform pants. This photograph was taken in 1931, a period between World War I and World War II. The postcard is addressed to someone in Novi Sad, Serbia. Novi Sad is a city in Serbia on the banks of the Danube River. I am guessing that the soldier in this photograph was a member of the Serbian army. During 1931, Serbia was actually part of Yugoslavia.

FIVE ADORABLE COSTUMED CHILDREN IN RUMA, SERBIA

Someone described the children in this photograph as enchanting; and I agree wholeheartedly. The kids in the photograph are all dressed in wonderful costumes. Perhaps they are dressed this way because they are going to a costume party. It is also possible that they are attired in costumes provided to them by the photographer for purposes of producing an interesting portrait. The children are dressed in occupational fashion. Focusing on the boys from left to right, we see a jester, a fishmonger, a courtier, and a bread seller. It is unclear to me what occupation the little girl is representing. The  photographer of this image has the last name of  “Veritas”. His studio was located in Ruma, Serbia.

PRETTY WOMAN HOLDING A PRETTY FAN, IN WERSCHETZ, SERBIA

A pretty woman poses for photographer, Ivan Rigyitsky in Werschetz. Werschetz (German name) is a town in Serbia. It is known as Vrsac in Serbia. The town has been under the rule of several different governments over modern times. It was once part of Austria-Hungary. This image has some interesting features. The woman is dressed very fashionably and she is holding an open beautiful fan. Note the lovely scene pictured on the fan. The young lady has a nice figure, with the help of a corset, no doubt.
