This vintage real photo postcard features an adorable little girl flashing a wonderful smile. Snow flakes fall around her. She is dressed for winter wearing a cape and winter hat. She is holding a muff to protect her hands. Note the pink ribbon in her hair and the flowers in the foreground. These must be hardy flowers to look so pretty in the wintertime. This “Happy New Year” card was published by Circe as part of a series (no.5015). SOLD
This vintage real photo postcard features a pretty mother posing with her infant child lying comfortably in a vintage perambulator (baby carriage). The carriage is large and looks very secure. Imagine a parent trying to fit one of these “monsters” into the back of their automobile. I think it’s a safe bet that this perambulator did not fold smaller for easy transport. Mom looks very proud and very happy as she stands behind her baby. She is bundled up for winter weather. Note her leather gloves and fur scarf. The baby appears to be bundled up warmly for the venture outdoors. The child has a “nook” in his/her mouth. This photo is from a studio; it is not mass produced. This photo postcard is in very good condition (see scans).

This tintype photograph features a well-dressed and pretty young woman. She appears to be dressed for winter. She is wearing a dark heavy dress and a cape. She looks very pleasant and has a lovely smile. Tintypes were popular in the 1860’s and 1870’s. Over time, they were replaced by Carte de Visites and Cabinet Cards. This vintage real photo postcard features two adorable sisters wearing fancy winter clothing. These kids are an illustration of what it means to be “bundled up”. Note the children’s boots and hats. The youngest child is wearing a scarf that gives the appearance of a big ribbon. The ribbon makes her look like a wrapped Christmas gift. This postcard has an Artura stamp box which indicates that the card was published sometime between 1908 and 1924. (SOLD)

This snap shot photograph tells a story. It may go something like this. It is a cool winter day in France. Its 1966. A handsome father puts on his winter coat and scarf, bundles up his two adorable children, and the family goes for an enjoyable brisk walk down the boulevard. They are not alone. A number of pedestrians are occupying the sidewalk. The man and his children are well dressed and appear fairly affluent. An inscription, written in French, can be found on the reverse of the photo. Perhaps a visitor to the Cabinet Card Gallery will be able to translate the inscription for the rest of us. The photograph measures about 2 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and is in very good condition (see scans).

This photograph captures three couples gathered around a “tricked out” sled on a winter day. There is snow on the ground and the woman are wearing weather appropriate footwear. Interestingly, only three of the subjects are paying attention to the camera. It is also notable that the individuals in this image are not dressed for frolicking in the snow. My guess is that they may have been out walking and happened upon the sled. One of them may have thought the sled presented them with a terrific photo opportunity. This photograph, according to an inscription on the reverse of the image, was taken in Spa, Belgium. The photograph was shot at the Chalet de Geronstere in 1933. Spa is a town in the Province of Liege, Belgium. It is situated in a valley in the Ardennes mountains. SOLD
This vintage photograph features a mother pulling her daughter in a wooden wagon. The photograph appears to have been taken during the winter. The child is bundled in a heavy coat and has her hand protected from the cold by a fur muff. She is sitting on a heavy blanket. Mom is also prepared for winter. She is wearing a long dress and is accessorized with a fur scarf and she has fur cuffs on her sleeves. This photographed was purchased from a collector in England. A sticker on the reverse of the photo indicates the photographer’s name. His name is Oscar Hurt, though I am not certain about the accuracy of his last name since the writing is difficult to decipher. This photograph measures about 4 1/2 x 6 1/4. (SOLD)
This vintage photograph features a mother and her son. The pair are dressed for winter. This image exudes a lot of emotion. It is easy to sense the bond between the boy and his mother. My impression is that the photograph captures the boy comforting his mother., rather than the other way around. Each has an arm around the other, but mom looks to be in a passive role. The photograph was found in Moscow, Russia. An inscription on the reverse of the photo appears to indicate that it was taken in 1954. This photograph measures about 3 1/2 ” x 2 1/4″. SOLD
