TWO ADORABLE SISTERS IN FANCY WINTER CLOTHING

This vintage real photo postcard features two adorable sisters wearing fancy winter clothing. These kids are an illustration of what it means to be “bundled up”. Note the children’s boots and hats. The youngest child is wearing a scarf that gives the appearance of a big ribbon. The ribbon makes her look like a wrapped Christmas gift. This postcard has an Artura stamp box which indicates that the card was published sometime between 1908 and 1924.  (SOLD)

YOUNG WOMAN PULLS HER DAUGHTER IN A WOODEN WAGON

This vintage photograph features a mother pulling her daughter in a wooden wagon. The photograph appears to have been taken during the winter. The child is bundled in a heavy coat and has her hand protected from the cold by a fur muff. She is sitting on a heavy blanket. Mom is also prepared for winter. She is wearing a long dress and is accessorized with a fur scarf and she has fur cuffs on her sleeves. This photographed was purchased from a collector in England. A sticker on the reverse of the photo indicates the photographer’s name. His name is Oscar Hurt, though I am not certain about the accuracy of his last name since the writing is difficult to decipher. This photograph measures about 4 1/2 x 6 1/4.   (SOLD)

The brothers worked in various combinations and in a number of partnerships in Superior, Wisconsin and Duluth, Minnesota. They were associated with studios from the 1880s through the 1910’s.

THE ADORABLE DUPONT CHILDREN POSE WITH THEIR SLED IN STUDIO WINTER SCENE

These kids are adorable and beautifully dressed. They are wearing their scarves around their waist instead of around their neck. The two kids are sporting great coats and winter hats. The oldest child hold the sled’s rope while the youngest child sits on the sled. The youngest child has many ribbons on the front of his/her coat and the bottom of his/her coat is styled as a skirt. The older child is wearing a shorts suit. Note the wintry snow covered scenery in the backdrop. The reverse of the cabinet card has an inscription stating that the kids in this photograph are the “DuPont Children”. Could they be part of the famous DuPont family? The photographer’s name and the location of the photographer’ studio are unidentified.
