This vintage real photo postcard features a pretty young woman and her black cat. She appears to be in her teenage years. Note her coy smile. Her cat is certainly photogenic. This French postcard is dated 1925 and was published by Alfred Noyer. Noyer was well known and acclaimed for his work photographing nude, or partially clad, beautiful women. His Paris studio operated between 1910 and the 1940’s. This postcard is in very good condition (see scans).

This vintage real photo postcard features a snake charmer doing his charm in Benares, India. Ophidiophobics should think twice before adding this postcard to their collection. This photograph is a snake phobics nightmare. The photo was taken in Benares, which in India is known as Varanasi. The city is on the banks of the Ganges river. Benares is a major religious hub in India. In fact, it is the holiest of India’s seven sacred cities. What is the point of snake charming. It is the practice of hypnotizing snakes by playing and waving around an instrument called a “pungi”. A popular species of snake used in this practice are cobras. The snake charmer handles the snakes and performs dangerous acts with them. They also do other types of street performances (ie juggling or sleight of hand). India is considered the center of snake charming but the practice is also common is Pakistan, Thailand , Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and other Asian and North African countries. The popularity of snake charming is on the decline. 
This vintage snapshot is highly unusual. A couple poses with two cute young foxes. The gentleman in the photo is holding the two fox pups on his lap. The woman is wearing pants and sitting on the automobiles side board. The old car is a nice backdrop, Note the man’s cool cap. This photograph measures about 2 3/8″ x 3 3/8″ and is in excellent condition.
This vintage photograph features a most adorable dachshund popping out of a wicker waste basket. I can not guarantee that this cute canine is a dachshund but that is my best guess. The photographer and the location that this photo was taken, are unidentified. The dog also preferred to remain anonymous. This image measures about 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and is in very good condition.
This vintage real photo postcard features an image of a young boy riding a donkey. The boy is well dressed and is wearing a shirt and tie. He is seated on a saddle, holding the reins, and his feet are in the stirrups. Neither the boy nor the donkey appear happy. The reverse of the postcard identifies the boy as being Ralph W. Ruck and indicates that the boy was eight years old at the time of the photograph. Research reveals that Ralph was born in either 1906 or 1907 in Pennsylvania (this dates the image to about 1914). The 1930 US census finds Ralph living in Middlesex, New Jersey with his parents and sister. A 1936 business directory lists Ralph as living in Somerville, Jew Jersey with his wife, Bertha S. Ruch. Social security information reports that Ralph died in 1994.. This postcard is addressed to a boy in Jamison City, Pennsylvania. The postcard paper was produced by AZO sometime between 1904 and 1918. 
This vintage photograph features a village in Vietnam. Note the thatched huts, the children sitting on logs in front of the huts, and the two boys riding water buffalo. This photograph is a stock photo. The stock photo industry became popular in the 1920’s. Stock photo agencies charge users to use stock photos in newspapers, magazines, websites, books, and other types of media. This photo of a Vietnamese village may have been used by journalistic or educational publications. The inclusion of water buffalos in this photograph, is a reminder of the importance of water buffalo in Vietnamese culture. The animal originated in Southeast Asia and is about seven feet tall and weighs about 2,500 pounds. They can run 30 miles per hour which is almost fast enough to escape their major predator, tigers. Water buffalo tend to be gentle and tame. They serve as a source of food, and power. They are used for transportation and for plowing fields. Unfortunately, water buffalo are an endangered species. There are only 4,000 of this species remaining in the wild. When I hear the words “water buffalo”, I think of the 1977 Houston Rockets. I was a rabid fan of the team and I remember that their front line was known as the “water buffalo”. Apparently, Moses Malone, Rudy Tomjanovich, and Kevin Kunnert, were considered so slow moving; that they were given the moniker of “the water buffalo”. This photograph measures about 7″ x 4 5/8″. A uniformed soldier sits against a fence and he is holding two adorable lambs on his lap. This is a study in contrast. A military warrior represents battle and lethality, while the young lambs represent peace and calm. Before anyone gets “up in arms”, I want to state that I know that soldiers can represent peace and protection. Note the soldier’s high boots. They appear to be for weather protection rather than for long marches. This snapshot photograph measures about 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ and is in very good condition.
