This vintage real photo postcard features a portrait of a boxer. His name is listed as “Vermot”. Unfortunately, without knowing his first name, it is difficult to confirm the identity of this fighter. It is likely that this is a photograph of “Vernot”, a French light weight boxer active in 1912. He only fought one bout. This postcard was published by Dix, a company located in Paris. The firm published a series of postcards of boxers of the day. This postcard offers a crisp image and is in very good condition (see scans). SOLD
PRETTY WOMAN : SAD EXPRESSION : DARK SILK DRESS : T.I.C. : (1928)
This vintage real photo postcard features a young woman displaying a sad facial expression. I wonder what she was thinking about as she had her portrait taken. She is wearing, what appears to be, a dark silk dress. This postcard was published by T.I.C (Thomas Illingworth & Company). The firm was established in London in I t is about 1904 and the company manufactured the Horse Shoe Brand of photographic paper. It is believed that the company operated until about 1930. A coding existed on later T. I.C cards which identified the year of publication. This postcard was published in 1928. This postcard has been skillfully trimmed to fit a frame or album. Overall, this vintage postcard is in very good condition (see scans).

EARLY BOWLING PHOTOGRAPH : NEWARK, NEW JERSEY : BOWLING PIN
This cabinet card portrait features a gentleman dressed as if he is wearing a military uniform. In reality, this serious looking man is a bowler. The pin on his hat has the letters UGSB. I was unable to identify the full name of the organization. The gentleman is wearing two pins on his jacket, one of which, shows falling bowling pins. The second pin may show a bowling ball. This cabinet card photograph is from the studio of Helmuth Schumacher. He operated his business out of Newark, New Jersey, from 1880 to after 1940. Schumacher was at the William Street address, where this photo was taken, between 1880 and 1897. SOLD

YOUNG ADORABLE CHILD WITH A BEAUTIFUL SMILE : TWO LARGE DOGS : RPPC : (1922)
This vintage real photo postcard features an adorable young child and two very large dogs. The child is wearing a nautical type outfit and it’s top includes a large bow. Two large dogs lie beside their young master. An inscription of the reverse of the card indicates that the child’s name is Claude and that he was two years old at the time that this photograph was taken. The inscription reveals that the photo was taken in 1922. The card has a K Ltd. stamp box. This postcard has been trimmed to fit into an album or picture frame. The card measures about 4 1/2″ x 3 1/8″, has excellent clarity, and is in excellent condition. (SOLD)

ADORABLE YOUNG GIRL : PARASOL : RAIN HAT : GARISH DRESS : VINTAGE PHOTO : 1930
This vintage photo features an adorable little girl preparing to go out in the rain. She is holding an umbrella and wearing a rain hat. Her floral dress is gaudy (in my opinion). The dress clashes with her umbrella. Look carefully and you will see a purse hanging from her right arm. This young girl’s smile and expression more than compensates for any fashion faux pas. An inscription on the reverse of this image indicates that the child’s name is “Simone”. This photograph is of French origin. It measures about 3 1/4″ x 5 3/8″ and is in good condition (see scans).
