Let me introduce you to cousin Betty Hudson. She is a cutie pie. This vintage real photo postcard of Betty was taken by a studio in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The photographer used lighting in creating this photo that is reminiscent of the work of artist Coles Phillips. An inscription on the reverse of the postcard indicates that this photograph was taken in 1917. This photo postcard is in good condition (see scans).

The three little girls featured on the vintage real photo postcard are absolutely adorable. I wonder if they are siblings. If so, the youngest two girls are twins. Two of the girls are wearing necklaces and the oldest child is wearing a bracelet. Note the doll clutched by the cutie on the bottom step. Be a voyeur for a moment and look inside the large window behind the girls. You will see a large statue, which may indicate that the girls are standing on the steps of a museum. An alternative hypothesis is that the children are standing in front of a wealthy person’s mansion. An inscription on the reverse of the postcard reveals that this photo was taken in 1928. This postcard is unique. The photo was taken by a private photographer. It was not issued by a postcard company as there are no logos or credits on the card. This vintage photo postcard is in very good condition (see scans).

This cabinet card portrait features a little boy holding the reigns of his toy horse in one hand and a whip in the other hand. The child is adorably dressed from head to toe. The toy horse beside him is nearly as tall as he is, and is very realistic looking. The horse even has a mane with real hair. E. I. Ellery is the photographer of this lovely image. His studio was located in the city of Truro which is located in Cornwall, England. On the reverse of the photograph is a very elaborate logo advertising Mr. Ellery’s services. An inscription on the reverse identifies the child as being “Percy Rogers” at two years and two months of age. (SOLD)
This vintage real photo postcard is absolutely adorable. Kudos to the photographer. Two cute young girls smile as they enjoy their garden party. Invited guests include two teddy bears and a little white dog. The pup is sitting in wagon and appears to be doing a good job of cooperating with the photographer. The party-goers are sitting in a beautiful garden. They are surrounded by lovely flowers. One could get the impression, from looking at this image, that these sweet children may be from a wealthy family and are being photographed at their family’s estate. This photo postcard has a “AZO” stamp box which indicates it was published between 1904 and 1918. Close examination of the front of the postcard (left hand corner) reveals an embossed identification of the photographer. The photo was taken by the Rollins Photo Company of Lisbon, Ohio. Benjamin Rollins (1863-1930) is listed in the 1910 US Census and is reported to be a photographer who operated is own studio/gallery.

This vintage real photo postcard features an adorable wide-eyed little girl dressed in winter clothing. She is wearing a fur coat and a winter hat. The girl is holding a doll. This photograph was taken by Ferdinand Ertl and the postcard was published by Bradux (c.1930’s). The card is part of a series (86539). Ertl’s studio was located in the Tamsweg-Lungau region of Austria. SOLD
This cabinet card portrait features an adorable nicely dressed little girl. She was photographed at the Juan Guarneri studio in Buenos Aires, Argentina. An inscription on the reverse of the photograph indicates that the child’s name is Bernadina and that the photograph was taken in 1891. SOLD
This vintage real photo postcard features a mother and daughter. The mom is wearing a bold striped shirt. The little girl is holding a tennis racket and has a wonderful smile. This postcard was published by Thomas Illingworth & Co. (T.I.C.). The company was a paper manufacturer founded about 1904. They produced the “Horse Shoe Brand” photographic paper in London England. In 1919 they were bought by British Photographic Supplies company, Ilford. An internet source states that the company produced postcards with horseshoe stamp boxes between 1919 and 1930. Symbols were used to identify the date the postcard paper was produced. Note the triangle on the reverse of the card which can be found between the words “Post” and “Card”. The triangle indicates that this postcard stock was produced in 1928.
This sweet little boy is adorably dressed. He poses for his studio portrait in front of a very nice backdrop painting of the sea. The child is holding on to a hoop toy. He takes extra precaution that the toy won’t roll away by standing on the bottom of the hoop. A note below the image identifies the boy as Otto and the year the photograph was taken (1913). I am not a linguist so I can only guess what language the embossed studio information is written in. My hypothesis is that this photograph was taken in Russia, or possibly Greece. If I am correct, one wonders what a boy with a German name (Otto) is doing in Russia or Greece. Hopefully, a visitor to the Cabinet Card Gallery will be able to identify the language and leave a comment which will solve the mystery.
