This vintage real photo postcard features a pretty young woman sitting on a swing. She is beautifully dressed and is flashing a wonderful smile. Her dress is beautifully color tinted. She is wearing a large flower on each side of her head. Note the length of her hair. This postcard was published by DLG as part of a series (no.267/2). The card has a 1907 postmark from Krizevci, a city in central Croatia. This postcard is in very good condition (see scans).

The two children seen in this cabinet card photograph are precious. They have incredibly sweet smiles. They are standing in a faux field of daisies. This photo was taken by Hendricks & Co., a studio in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. The town was originally named Allegheny City and it was established in 1788. In 1907, it was annexed by the city of Pittsburgh. The photographer of this image is John P Hendricks. He is listed in the 1891 and 1893 Pittsburgh City Directories. If this photograph is typical of his work, he was quite talented. This cabinet card portrait is in good condition (see scans). Note the foxing on the reverse of the photograph. SOLD
This vintage real photo postcard features two young children sitting on a garden wall. The boy and girl are adorably dressed and are very cute. The girl is holding a bouquet of pink flowers. Note the boy’s fantastic curls and terrific cap. The postcard’s message is dated 1902. This postcard was likely published by Felix Korn & Co. (F.K.) which was located in Stuttgart, Germany. I am unable to confirm the publishers name. This postcard lists F.K. as being located in Paris, not Stuttgart. Further complicating matters is that there also was another company that went by the F.K. initials (F. Kehrhan & Co of Bexley Heath, England). This card’s postage stamp is German and the postmark is from the city of Mulhausen. Mulhausen is a city located in eastern France, near the Swiss and German borders. However, at the time of the mailing of this postcard, Mulhausen belonged to the German Empire and was part of the Alsace-Lorraine territory. (SOLD)
A beautifully dressed young woman and two children pose for a family portrait at the studio of C. Gunteritz, in Berlin, Germany. The young woman is likely the mother of the two children, although it is possible that she could be their older sister. The little girl is holding a basket of flowers and her younger brother has a toy rabbit on his lap. The young woman’s dress is made of material that is not commonly seen in cabinet card photographs. Hopefully, a visitor to the Cabinet Card Gallery will be able to identify the dress’s material. This cabinet card portrait is in very good condition (see scans).
A cute little girl with curly hair poses in a studio created field of daisies for photographer Sim Mould. The studio was located in Baraboo, Wisconsin. The girl is wearing a dress wth a lace collar and has a flower pinned to the front of her dress. An inscription on the reverse of the cabinet card indicates that the child’s name is Hattie Acot. Unfortunately, no biographical information could be found about her. The photographer, Mr. Mould is mentioned in a number of photographic journals. He placed an ad for his studio in a book about Sauk County, Wisconsin (1891). The Photographic Times (1898) reports on his appointment to a lobbying committee of the Photographers Association of Wisconsin. The Encyclopedia Dubuque (1911) reveals that Sim Mould operated a photographic studio at 107 Main Street in Dubuque, Iowa. The town of Baraboo is situated on the Baraboo river. The town was settled by Abe Wood and originally called Adams. In 1852 it was renamed Baraboo. In the town’s early history it became the home of several sawmills. In the nineteenth century the town served as the headquarters of several circuses, including Ringling Brothers. Baraboo became known as “Circus City”.
