This vintage real photo features a pretty young woman in the nude. She is wearing a very long “pearl” necklace. She has beautiful eyes. This postcard is risque for its era. Tastefully done nude postcards were considered art at the time this card was issued. The card was published by the French firm, Corona as part of a series (No.155). Corona was a publisher that operated in the 1920’s. They published many postcard nudes with blank backs. It is not known if they were photographers or just a reprinting company that produced photos taken by well known photographers of the time. (SOLD)
This risque vintage real photo postcard features Swedish film actress, operetta singer, troubadour, director and composer; Naima Wifstrand. If that isn’t enough job titles, we must add that she played several supporting roles in the films of Ingmar Bergman. This photo is risque for it’s era. Note her headress and jewelry. Naima was born in Stockholm. She did not study acting until 1905, when she joined a leading Theatre company. She travelled with them for several years, playing smaller roles. She decided that she preferred singing and she became a famous and successful grand operetta star for 30 years in Sweden. She received her singing training at the Swedish Royal Academy of Music. She returned to acting in the 1940’s and became on of Sweden’s best supporting and character actresses on stage and film. The IMDb lists 63 credits in her filmography between 1927 and 1968. This card’s photographic image was taken by Ferd. Flodin in 1917. He operated a studio in Stockholm. This postcard is in very good condition (see scans).

Tasteful nude postcards were considered art during the time that this postcard was issued. The card was published by the French firm, P.C Paris as part of a series (No.2484). The P.C logo is an abbreviation for Papeteries d Levallois-Clichy. The firm published a variety of real photo postcard topics including portraits of pretty models, nudes, views, and holiday cards. This vintage real photo postcard is part of a series named “Les Plus Belles Femmes de France” (The Most Beautiful Women of France). This series is about the Provinces of France, and the model for this image represents La Sablaise. Note that the woman in this photograph is wearing a pretty smile. This postcard is no.13 in the series. There were a number of different series published. The Province series was one of the more popular series. The models in this series represent different French Provinces and wear traditional clothing from that particular area of the country. This postcard was published by well known photographer Alfred Noyer. The celebrated photographer supervised a large photo studio in Paris. The Noyer Studio operated from 1910 until the 1940’s. Many of the postcards he produced of women were nudes or risque images.The photographer of this postcard portrait is the Elmlinger studio. This vintage postcard is in good condition (see scans).

This vintage real photo postcard features English theater actress, Dorothy Dix (1892-1970), Her London debut was in 1907. She became a major player after her appearance in “The White Man” (1908). This portrait postcard captures her in the role of Nat-u-ritch from that play. “The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News” explains the plot of the play as follows. Dix plays the role of a “white man’s” wife who commits suicide to free her husband. The play was presented at London’s Lyric Theatre. Other appearances include “The Three Musketeers”, “The Cherry Orchard” and “Hamlet”. She appeared in the film, “The First Mrs. Fraser” (1932). This portrait postcard was published by Rotary Photo as part of a series (No.4921B). Miss Dix’s photograph was taken by the Foulsham & Banfield studio. SOLD

This vintage real photo postcard features a pretty young woman sitting on an antique chair. Her shoes look like sneakers. This is possible because the first sneaker (running shoe) was invented in 1895. The young woman has bands around the cuffs of her sleeves which I imagine are meant to shorten the length of the sleeves. The woman appears to be in her teenage years. This divided back card dates back to around 1910. The postcard is in very good condition (see scans).
