PORTRAIT OF AN ADORABLE LITTLE GIRL STANDING ON A BENCH IN PLYMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE

An adorable little girl with an impish smile poses for her portrait at the studio of Harry S. Heath in Plymouth, New Hampshire. The nicely dressed child is standing on a bench. The photographer did a great job of using fabric in setting up the pose for this photograph. Heath created an interesting effect with the material that causes his subject to really stand out in the image. This talented photographer was born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1866 and died in that city in 1898 at the age of thirty-one. He was married at the time of his death. His cause of death was Pyaemia. This disease is a type of septicaemia frequently caused by staph infection. He is buried in Ashland, New Hampshire. This cabinet card portrait has excellent clarity and is in very good condition (see scans).

PRETTY LITTLE GIRL SMILING IN A SNOW FLURRY

This vintage real photo postcard features an adorable little girl flashing a wonderful smile. Snow flakes fall around her. She is dressed for winter wearing a cape and winter hat. She is holding a muff to protect her hands. Note the pink ribbon in her hair and the flowers in the foreground. These must be hardy flowers to look so pretty in the wintertime. This “Happy New Year” card was published by Circe as part of a series (no.5015). SOLD

PORTRAIT OF AN ADORABLE LITTLE GIRL HUGGING HER DOLL (AIN’T SHE SWEET)

This vintage photograph is sweet. The photo features a young girl hugging her doll. The child has beautiful eyes and a wonderful smile. She looks so sweet. Interestingly, both she and her doll have bangs that look very much alike. The girl is wearing a pretty sweater. This color photograph is a former resident of a photo album. It is evident that the image was once held in place in an album by photo corners. This photograph found it’s way to me from Argentina. The photo measures about 3.5″ x 7.5″ and is in very good condition (see scans).

TWO ADORABLE LITTLE GIRLS POSE FOR THEIR PORTRAIT : BOTH WERE POPULAR PHOTO POSTCARD MODELS

This vintage real photo postcard features two adorable little girls. This photograph is stunning. The card was published by PFB as part of a series (no.230). PFB stands for Paul Fink, a publishing firm located in Berlin, Germany. The company existed between 1899 and 1905. Fink was a fine art printer and they published many “elaborate” postcards. Many of these cards utilized embossing in their production.  The postmark on the reverse of this card indicates it was stamped in the 1920’s. The reverse of the card also reveals that it was published by the Philco Publishing Company of London, England. Philco published postcards between 1905 and 1934. Perhaps Philco bought out PFB and the rights to publish PFB photo cards. This postcard has excellent clarity and is in very good condition (see scans). SOLD

This vintage real photo postcard features a little boy posing for his portrait at an unidentified photographers studio. The child is wearing a sailors suit which includes short pants. He is petting the German Shepherd type dog that lies on the bench adjacent to the young boy. SOLD

ADORABLE BRIGHT EYED LITTLE PARISIAN GIRL (FRENCH CARTES DE VISITE)

This cartes de visite features a very pretty little girl standing beside a basket of flowers. She is wearing a necklace, a lace bib and lace at the end of her sleeves. She has a bow in her hair and bows on her shoes. This adorable little girl’s portrait was photographed by Photographie Des Grandes Boulevards in Paris, France. SOLD

PORTRAIT OF A FATHER, TWO YOUNG SONS, AND A HOOP TOY IN DUSSELDORF, GERMANY

This cabinet card captures a well dressed father and his two sons posing for their portrait at the Elite studio in Dusseldorf, Germany. The father is wearing a three piece suit with a tie and a pocket watch. The older child is holding a hoop toy. Both boys are wearing naval caps with lettering spelling out “Kaiserliche Marine”. The “Kaiserliche Marine” was the name of the German Empire’s Navy. It existed between 1871 and 1919. Kaiser Wilhelm II expanded and improved the navy, as well as, broadened it’s mission. The German navy became a very powerful force, second only to Britain’s Royal Navy. This fantastic family portrait has excellent clarity and is in very good condition (see scans).

AN ADORABLE LITTLE BOY PUSHES A WHEELBARROW WITH HIS CUTE DOG HITCHING A RIDE

This vintage real photo postcard features an adorable little boy giving his dog a wheelbarrow ride. The boy has a serious expression on his face. The child appears to be dressed for cold weather. His dog is very cute and seems to be very comfortable with his circumstances. An inscription on the reverse of the postcard indicates that the card dates back to 1923. This photograph was taken by an unidentified private studio. The name of the studio is embossed on the lower right hand corner of the image but I find it undecipherable. SOLD

PORTRAIT OF A LITTLE GIRL WEARING A BONNET : HOLDING A DOLL OR PUPPET (1939)

This vintage real photo postcard features an adorable little girl holding a doll. It is possible that the doll may actually be a marionette puppet. Note the child’s bonnet as well as her apprehensive expression. A stamp on the reverse of the card reveals that the child was photographed by the Jupiter studio in Bucharest, Romania. The photo was taken in 1939. This vintage postcard has excellent clarity and is in excellent condition.
